The First Regional Shopping Center

The Ušće Shopping Centre, an investment of MPC Properties d.o.o. (which is a joint venture of the companies MPC Holding d.o.o. and Merrill Lynch Global Real Estate Principal Investments) was ceremoniously opened on 31 March 2009. At eight o’clock sharp, the Managing Director of Merrill Lynch for Europe, Africa and Near East, Roger Barris, together with Tanja Lewin, Director of the Shopping Center, cut the ribbon and solemnly opened the doors of the Ušće Shopping Center.
Apart from MPC Properties this 150 million worth project was financed by four banks – Eurobank EFG, NBG, Piraeus Bank and Unicredit bank. The center construction started at the end of 2006 and the process took 30 months. In the course of the construction, approximately 5,000 workers participated from more than 100 construction companies of which 90% were from Serbia. The Ušće Shopping Center will employ about 1,200 people, a considerable contribution to the economic growth. The new city center will be opened every day from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.
